I wrote about this on one of my other blogs.  I’m not surewhy I didn’t put it here.

My One Word Review of the Dark Knight…

10 08 2008

Wow.

Now on to the rest of the week’s crap. I’ve fallen behind in my blogging lately thanks to work and a five month old who likes to bounce. Now that he’s asleep I can share a few items and thoughts for the week. Let’s continue with where I started… comics:

  • Marvel’s Secret Invasion continues and LOTR King reviews the latest Avengers installment.
  • He also reviews Thor #10. This title has been slowly getting stronger and stronger and has become one of the more interesting Marvel titles.
  • The AVClub has published its comics panel.  Not a whole lot that I’d read, but it’s still worth browsing.

Moving on to television, a few interesting things…

  • The AVClub reviews one of the most underrated televisions shows of all time… TV Funhouse
  • Electricity & Lust reviews Generation Kill. I’ve been really enjoying this HBO mini-series. Also, check out his new movie blog here.

In technology/Web 2.0 stuff, I found a new website I want to try, Fluther. Apparently the collective will answer your questions. I just wonder how you know if they’re right or not?

In words and the such, more good stuff from One-Story.

Finally, I’m also starting a new project for myself. As I find myself in airports from time to time, I thought I’d start a blog that covers travel. You can find it here, but I haven’t really posted anything yet.

Weekend Activities

8 06 2008

I actually got out and did stuff this weekend.  What a shocker!  First my dad and I want to see Jakob Dylan on Friday night.   The show was good and I’ve written my thoughts over on yet another specialized blog

CloverfieldSecond, we bought Cloverfield on Pay-Per-View.  I’m still thinking about the movie but I think Shannon may have gotten it right when she said they remade Godzilla with a handheld camera…  I don’t want to spoil anything, but the movie was pretty good.  I really wish that we had a few more answers.  An outside perspective would have been interesting.

After a while I got tired of all the super good looking kids running through Manhattan expressing undying love for each other.  I was kind of missing the fat guy with bad facial hair that provides comic relief (like in the Godzilla movies).

Again, showing that we’re ahead of the times we’re going to watch the end of season one of Battlestar Galactica.  It might actually encourage us to get Netflix.

Next weekend Shannon is going to take me to see The Incredible Hulk for father’s day. I’m kind of psyched!

New Blog

17 05 2008

As if writing two, yes two widely slightly read blogs isn’t enough, I’ve added a photoblog for all those who care.  Fixed My Life is the inverse to my ranting and raving site.  More of a slow cooking approach to life.  My goal is to let the picture say 975 or so of the words with my comments kept to about 25.  When you’re done with my paper thin pop culture musings (and redirections) here, feel free to check it out.

Ryan Adams

17 04 2008

Ryan Adams has been blogging. It’s interesting to see him play music, give you a peek into his life, etc. This post is really interesting. He gives a few honest answers to rumors and stories floating out there about him. It’s refreshing to see this from anyone. He’s a great musician who catches a lot of shit from fans, critics, the press, etc. that is unwarranted. He does make fabulous records though.
